Do something nice for someone else!
Many times we get caught up in our thoughts and worries and don’t really think about the world around us. When you are a worrier, it is easy to get stuck in your head and overthink everything (trust me, I know – this is something that I have to regularly work on in my self-care practice!) and forget that there are people around you!
A great way to manage stress and mood is to think about someone else rather than yourself. Doing something nice for someone else is putting positive energy out into the universe that will also affect you in a positive way. It gets you out of your head and takes the focus off of your worries. It allows you a break from you!
So the next time you need to get out of your own head, ask yourself:
What can you do for someone else to brighten their day?
For example, the next time you go get your coffee / tea from Starbucks, buy a second one for a coworker or friend and surprise them when you get to work or wherever you are going.
Something as simple as buying a surprise coffee for someone else can really make their day. In turn it makes you forget about yourself and your troubles and helps you feel good.
Such a super simple way to spread the LOVE!
